BRA FITTING & SIZING
Are bra fitters trained?
Yes bra fitters at The Foundation & Lin & Barrett Lingerie stores are fully trained. Our team undergo many months of bra fitting training including detailed product information, training from team members and suppliers, observation of fittings and supervision of their fittings for many months before allowed to do bra fittings independently. Even our most experienced bra fitters in store, will seek feedback from other fitters so that we ensure our customers leave feeling comfortable, confident and happy with their purchases.
How often should I get a bra fitting?
You should seek a bra fitting when you feel uncomfortable, when your body shape changes or when your bras are wearing out. If in doubt visit us with some of your bras and we can help make adjustments and provide you some advice.
What should I do if I am between bra sizes?
Remember with most bras there is a back size and a cup size. If you go down a size in the back, you might need to go up a size in the cup to get the same cup fit. If you go up in the back, you might need to go down in the cup size. This is what we call finding your "sister-size". Sometimes however, the bra just might not be right for you and you should try something else.
Why should I have a bra fitting?
A professional bra fitting is, in our opinion, the only way to ensure your bra fits properly and gives you the best support without compromising on comfort. We need both visual and verbal feedback from you during the fitting process as sometimes the best fitting bra visually, might not feel comfortable for you. If you have a professional bra fitting we can present you with several options, give you our professional opinion about what bras fit you best and then allow you to choose the most comfortable bra.
How do I measure myself for a bra at home?
You can try using a tape measure to calculate the size directly under your bust to get an indication of your back size and use the size charts of each lingerie brand to find the appropriate back size. Cup sizing is much more tricky as it relates to the volume of the bust. Our recommendation is that you come and visit us for a fitting as it is not uncommon to wear 3-4 different bra sizes depending on the bra. All manufacturers are different.
How do I know my correct bra size?
It is very difficult to know your correct bra size as you will likely change sizes depending on the brand of the bra and the style / shape. If your bra is comfortable, stays in place without slipping or riding up and there is no gaping or digging in, you have likely found your right size. If in doubt come and see us for a fitting.
How do I know if my bra is too big or too small?
If your bra is too big it will likely be riding up in the back, digging in under the arms or gapping in the cup. If your bra is too small it will feel tight and uncomfortable or your breast tissue might bulge in the cup or the underwire sitting on the breast tissue under the arms. Visiting us at The Foundation for a bra fitting will help you know for sure.
What is bra fitting?
Bra fitting is a process that involves you, the wearer, and an expert bra fitter to help you find the best bra for your needs, shape and comfort. Bra fitting requires a careful match of your lifestyle requirements and the various options available that will best work for your size and shape. Bra fitting without your feedback on how the bra feels on your body is pretty pointless in our opinion. Not all bras are meant to fit all people. No matter the size, some bras just won't work for you and our bra fitters are trained specially to help you find the best ones for your body.
How do I book a bra fitting?
At The Foundation & Lin & Barrett Lingerie stores, you do not need to make an appointment for a bra fitting. If we are busy when you arrive for your bra fitting we will do our best to help you at the same time, keeping you informed throughout the process. If you have any special needs or requests for an out of hours appointment, just call your local store and talk to us. We are happy to try to accommodate your special request.
What should I wear to a bra fitting?
You can wear whatever you like to a bra fitting. Ideally we'd love to see any bra you own that you really like so we can do our best to find you another one or something just like it.
What should I bring to a bra fitting?
If you are shopping for a bra to go with a certain outfit or dress, please bring it with you to the fitting. It will be great to confirm that the bra we have fitted you in, will be the right bra for the occasion.
And if you currently have some bras in good condition but they don't feel right, you can bring these with you and we might be able to help you adjust them so they feel or fit better. It will also help us to see what you like, what has worked for you in the past and what might not be working for you now. We would love to help you extend the life of your existing bras if possible and sometimes just a little adjustment is all that is required.
Do you do bra fittings for seniors?
Yes, we do bra fittings for seniors and women of any age in fact. We don't like to make assumptions about your age or preferences and so please just talk to us. We are always careful when assisting older women, are mindful of things such as skin integrity issues, sensitivities, recovery from surgery etc. We ask that you let us know of anything we can do to make you as comfortable as possible.
Do you do bra fittings for girls?
Yes, we do bra fittings for girls. We are mindful that a first bra fitting for young girls can be an uncomfortable step in a girls life. We will explain in detail how we like to help you to find your first bra and will always ask before opening the curtain to make sure you are comfortable with us checking the fit. Our service is professional, free of judgement where you should feel comfortable and confident.
Is bra fitting free?
Yes! Bra fittings are free at The Foundation & Lin & Barrett Lingerie stores. We believe that to find good fitting bras and intimate apparel you need the support of a friendly professional bra fitter. While we don't charge for it, you can reward us with your continued business.
How much does a bra fitting cost?
Absolutely nothing but your time. We don't charge our customers for a bra fitting. We are rewarded by your happiness and continued loyalty to our business so that we can continue to help women feel fabulous.

We have three bra fitting locations near you. The Foundation Lingerie is located in Neutral Bay in the north of Sydney covering the North Shore, Chatswood and Northern Beaches areas.
Lin & Barrett Lingerie at Rozelle servicing the Balmain peninsula, Eastern Sydney suburbs and western Sydney as well as Lin & Barrett Lingerie in Bowral in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Many customers travel from South Sydney, Woolongong and Canberra, ACT to visit us in Bowral.
What happened to Moda Intima Lingerie Neutral Bay?
Moda Intima Lingerie, after more than 30 years as a trusted lingerie store in Neutral Bay, closed its doors in May 2023, the owner, Rose, retiring to pursue a quieter life. The Moda Intima team including Nathalie and Maria, continued with the new store, The Foundation Lingerie, which opened in the same location on Military Road. We are delighted to welcome Moda Intima customers and hope to continue to same exceptional level of service.
What happened to Lin & Barrett Mosman
Lin & Barrett Lingerie has a long history in Sydney and Canberra in various locations. The Lin & Barrett Mosman location closed some time ago but you can find us now at The Foundation Lingerie, Military Road Neutral Bay. Lin & Barrett Lingerie has a long history in Sydney and Canberra in various locations. The Lin & Barrett Canberra store was in the M Centre in Manuka and was a much loved location of Lin & Barrett customers.
It was not possible to continue in our space in Manuka and sadly had to close. We are grateful many Lin & Barrett Canberra customers continue to visit us in our Lin & Barrett Bowral store.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY
How long does shipping take?
Regular shipping within Australia can take 2-3 business days to dispatch and 3-5 business days for delivery. International shipping 7-21 days from date of order.
Do you offer International Shipping?
Yes - there is a flat rate for international shipping which can take up to 21 days from date of order.
Can I track my order?
Yes, if you have provided your email address, you should receive a tracking number from Australia Post once your purchase has been shipped.
What are the shipping costs?
Within Australia, shipping is free for orders over $150. Express shipping within Australia is a flat rate of $15.00. Regular shipping for orders under $150 is a flat rate of $10.00 and orders for shipping internationally are a flat rate of $25.00.
What should I do if my order is delayed?
You should be able to track you parcel with Australia Post or feel free to contact us by replying to your order confirmation or via the contact us page on our website and we can help you.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
What is your return policy for lingerie?
Please refer to our returns and exchanges policy. In general, new items with tags can be returned for refund or exchange. Briefs cannot be returned for health reasons. Items on sale, in accordance with our policy cannot be returned unless faulty.
Can I exchange an item for a different size or colour?
If the item is eligible for return (refer returns and exchanges policy) then yes, you can return for a different size or colour if the stock is available. Please indicate in your return package what you would like to receive as an exchange.
What should I do if I receive the wrong item or the item is damaged / faulty?
Please reply to your order confirmation email with the details of the issue and pictures if possible, or reach out to us via the contact us page on our website. We will respond as soon as possible with instructions for return. If you prefer, you can call any one of our stores for advice.
Are there any items that cannot be returned or exchanged?
Yes - please refer to our return and exchange policy, found in the footer of our home page. In general you cannot return briefs or hosiery items for health reasons and items on sale unless faulty.
How long do I have to return or exchange an item?
You must return any purchases within 30 days of delivery confirmation for refund or exchange. This may be extended, at our discretion.
