Lin & Barrett Lingerie was bought by sisters, Amanda and Michaela in 2022, continuing a 27 year history of helping women to look and feel fabulous in great fitting lingerie. With a new name, the legacy of Lin & Barrett continues at The Foundation.

The Foundation is a lingerie and intimate apparel boutique specialising in expert bra fittings and a carefully curated range of lingerie, sleepwear, thermals, silk, swimwear, and accessories.

We’re here to give women the support they need—at their foundation—so they can look and feel fabulous every day.

We have two stores in Sydney available for bra fittings - Neutral Bay and Rozelle, and a third store in the Southern Highlands of NSW in Bowral. You can find our locations here.

Right now you don't need an appointment for a bra fitting in-store. Please come during store trading hours and we can help you find some fabulous things just right for you.

Sadly even the best bras don't last forever and our bodies are always changing.

If you feel any discomfort, notice something just not sitting right or your drawer of over-worn lingerie is staring sadly back at you, come and visit us. Bring your favourite bras with you and we will see if there is still some life left in them or help you find something new.

If you are shopping for a bra to go with a certain outfit or dress, please bring it with you to the fitting. It will be great to confirm that the bra we have fitted you in, will be the right bra for the occasion. And if you currently have some bras in good condition but they don't feel right, you can bring these with you and we might be able to help you adjust them so they feel or fit better. We would love to help you extend the life of your existing bras if possible and sometimes just a little adjustment is all that is required.

You should seek a bra fitting when you feel uncomfortable, when your body shape changes or when your bras are wearing out. If in doubt visit us with some of your bras and we can help make adjustments and provide you some advice.

Yes! Our fitters try to create a fun a positive environment to help reduce the awkward feeling at a first bra fitting. We will work with you and your teen to find just the right fit so you both feel comfortable, supported and confident every step of the way.

Remember with most bras there is a back size and a cup size. If you go down a size in the back, you might need to go up a size in the cup to get the same cup fit. If you go up in the back, you might need to go down in the cup size. This is what we call finding your "sister-size". Sometimes however, the bra just might not be right for you and you should try something else.

Because a proper fitting can feel as good as it looks. Our expert fitters guide you through styles and shapes tailored for your body and lifestyle while checking fit and comfort — something a tape measure just can’t capture. But on top of that, every bra manufacturer is a little different. Some fit big or small, shallow or deep and some bras just won't work for your shape or size. We want to help you make the right choice, to minimise the hassle of returns and the waste of your hard-earned money on something that isn't the absolute best fit for you.

You can try using a tape measure to calculate the size directly under your bust to get an indication of your back size and use the size charts of each lingerie brand to find the appropriate back size.

Cup sizing is much more tricky as it relates to the volume of the bust. Our recommendation is that you come and visit us for a fitting as it is not uncommon to wear 3 or even 4 different bra sizes depending on the bra. All manufacturers are different.

One of the best ways to train a new bra fitter is via on-the-job training. It takes many months and lots of practice to understand the challenges of various bust shapes and sizes and how to match these to the hundreds of bras that we stock.

You can be assured however that any new staff member is supervised by an experienced fitter to ensure that we get it right and so with your consent, we might have more than one fitter checking in on you to find that perfect fit.

Items eligible for return must be received within 30 days of purchase. It is the purchasers responsibility to ensure that the goods are received by us within the 30 day period.

For heath reasons, you cannot return any briefs, shapewear, bodysuits or hosiery. Additionally you cannot return any item discounted by 50% or more or available in our Outlet store, regardless of the value of the discount. Gift vouchers are not redeemable for cash or refund.

You can return any eligible item (refer eligible items) in new condition, with tags attached where it is unworn and unwashed. You can return any faulty item.

The customer is responsible for the postage costs of any returned items. Tracking is recommended as confirmed receipt of the returned items is the responsibility of the customer. If the item is faulty, please contact us via phone or email for return postage to be provided.

Yes we provide refunds, less postage costs, of any eligible returned items purchased online. Store credit is available for eligible items returned that were purchased in store.

Yes you can exchange an item in store or online if it is eligible for return. See, "What items can I return" FAQ.

We use Australia Post with an average delivery timeframe of between 2-6 business days within Australia. Express Post improves to 1-4 days within Australia. Please allow up to 10 business days for International delivery.

We offer regular Australia Post service free of charge within Australia for order $150 or more. We also offer Express Post within Australia for an additional fee of $15. Fixed rate shipping of $25AUD for International orders applies.

You can track your parcel by using the Australia Post tracking link here. You will be emailed your tracking number when your order is dispatched. You may receive more than one tracking number depending on the number of parcels sent.

Yes, for international shipments, customs duties and taxes may apply. These fees vary by country and are typically the responsibility of the recipient. Check with your local customs office for details.

Yes. Gift vouchers purchased online will be emailed to you immediately after purchase. You can then save the voucher and print it, or forward it to the recipient or your choice.

Our gift vouchers and store credit notes expire 3 years after the date of issue. This is plenty of time to shop with us again and choose something just right for you or your loved one.

You will need to process each voucher in its own transaction on our website. For example if you want a voucher for $300 you should add the $250 voucher and the $50 voucher and this will process as a single voucher of $300. If you want more than one voucher, please process them separately.

And don't worry, if you make a mistake, contact one of our stores during business hours and we can help you.

We cannot refund vouchers but we can reissue them as separate denominations if you make a mistake. Please call one of our stores or email us with the changes you want to make. One of our team will reply during business hours and help you.
