Bra Size Calculator — Find Your Fit at Home

We hate the idea of you having to guess your bra size! Every bra fits a little differently, and if you haven’t had a fitting in a while — or if your body has changed with time, weight, or shape — it’s always best to visit us in-store. Our expert team will give you all the support you need to feel fabulous.

But we understand life is busy, and sometimes you just need to go it alone with your trusty tape measure. That’s why we’ve created a simple Bra Size Calculator to help you get started at home.

How It Works

  1. Measure your band size (around your ribcage, just under your bust).
  2. Measure your bust size (around the fullest part of your bust).
  3. Enter both measurements into the calculator below.
  4. Click submit to get your suggested size.

Note: This is a suggested size only. Every brand and style can fit differently, so be sure to check the fitter feedback for each product and brand-specific size charts for additional information that will help you find your perfect fit.

Under-Bust Measurement

Wearing your best fitting bra, wrap a soft tape measure around your ribcage, right under your bust. Keep the tape measure snug and level with the floor. Breathe naturally and relax your shoulders when noting the measurement in centimetres (cm) or inches (in) below.

Full Bust Measurement

Now measure the fullest part of your bust while wearing your bra. This is generally at the line of your nipples if properly supported. Relax your arms and shoulders as much as possible and keep the tape measure level with the floor ensuring that you don’t pull too tight. Note the measurement in centimetres (cm) or inches (in) below.

Bra Size Calculator: Find Your Fit with Confidence

Finding the right bra size shouldn’t be a guessing game. No more straps digging in, cups gaping or that awkward under-boob situation. That’s why we created our easy-to-use Bra Size Calculator, designed specifically for Australian sizing. Whether you're shopping from home or prepping for an in-store fitting, this tool is your secret weapon for all-day comfort and support.

Once you enter your measurements, our calculator not only gives you your best-fit size, but also shows how that size compares across a range of brands we carry. You'll see your cup size highlighted in a chart, making it easier to shop confidently across labels like Chantelle, Berlei, PrimaDonna, and more.

Why Your Bra Size Matters

Wearing the wrong size? You’re not alone. Studies show that most people wear incorrectly fitted bras. It impacts your posture, comfort, and even how your clothes sit. At The Foundation, we’re all about support and would love to help you with a fitting. In the absence of an in-store experience, we empower you with the tools to help you get it right at home, starting with this calculator.

  • Under-bust measurement (rib cage measurement)
  • Full bust measurement (bust size)
  • Sister size options if you're between sizes. We apply a sister size based on how you feel in the band size. If you want a tighter fit, go down a size in the band, but you would go up a size in the cup. If you need a bigger band, you might need to go down a size in the cup. For example a suggested 14E size we could fit as 12F for a tighter band or 16D or 16DD (depending on the brand) for less firmness in the back but similar cup volume.

How to Measure at Home

1. Measure Your Band Size: Wrap the tape around your rib cage, just under the bust. Keep it snug and level.

2. Measure Your Bust Size: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust.

3. Enter Your Measurements: Pop the numbers into our calculator to see your size.

FAQs About Bra Size Measurement

1. What if I’m between sizes?

We recommend checking your sister size options. Slight changes in band or cup size can make a big difference. If your bust is filling the cup nicely in one size but you want a tighter back, you will likely need to increase the cup size of the smaller band size.

2. Do I need help to measure?

Not necessarily! But having someone help you keep the measuring tape level can improve accuracy. The help you need is likely in knowing which bras fit true to size and where some styles are more or less generous than others. That's what the experts can help with.

3. Will this calculator work for maternity or nursing bras?

It’s a great starting point, but we suggest chatting with our fitters for advice as our experience suggests that your shape will change throughout your pregnancy and nursing stages and you may require more than one fitting to get you through.

4. Are international sizes included?

Our system is built around Australian band sizes, but you can now check our Bra Size Conversion Chart for international sizing.

5. What’s the best bra type for everyday wear?

Most customers love our t-shirt bras for their smooth shape and comfort.
